Why to look for jobs on company career pages (and how to search them all at once)
The job you want was posted on the company's own careers page first, often days before anywhere else, with the real application form behind it. The big boards copy it later, if at all.
The source versus the copy
Most companies hire through a hiring system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and others) that publishes their open roles on a careers page. That page is the source: the posting appears there the day it opens and goes when it fills. Large job boards copy from it, with a delay, sometimes through a second copier, and add their own layer: sponsored listings, "easy apply" forms that go to a mailbox, staffing agencies posting the same role under three titles, and postings that stay up for months because nobody took them down.
Applying at the source means the real form, the real deadline, and no middleman holding your resume.
Reading a careers page
- The posting date, when the page shows one. A role open for 90 days is either hard to fill or not really open; either way it changes how you apply.
- Reposts. A role taken down and posted again may have had a hire fall through, or a hiring freeze lift. It is a fact about the posting, not a verdict on the employer, but it is worth knowing.
- The team and the level in the title, and the requirements list, which is where you check your match before you spend an hour on the application.
- The application form, which tells you how much the company has thought about candidates: five fields and a resume, or a forty-minute re-typing of the resume you just attached.
Searching every careers page at once
Visiting fifty careers pages a day is not a plan. JobFlo's job board reads companies' own careers pages directly, across the common hiring systems, and lists what is open, so every Apply button goes straight to the employer's form.
- Fresh by default. The board opens on jobs posted in the past 24 hours. Change it under Posted.
- No reposts, no staffing agencies. Postings open more than 60 days and roles reposted several times are labelled ("Open 94 days", "Reposted 3 times") and left out unless you switch them back on. Staffing agencies are hidden unless you want them.
- Filters that mean something. Workplace (remote, hybrid, on-site), level, category, job type, location, salary where the posting states one, technologies, company.
- Ready to apply. Signed in, each job shows how many of its required questions your saved answers already cover; filter to the jobs JobFlo can fill completely.
- Saved searches and alerts. Save a search; get a daily or weekly email only when there are new matches, with a link that stops it.
- How you match (Pro): each job shows how many of the skills and tools it names are in your resume, and which are not. Named things only; no judgement.
- The apply queue (Pro): for each saved search, the best new matches lined up each day with the form prefilled when you open it. You read and send.
The job board is free, and so are saved searches, alerts and filling the application.
Questions
Are the jobs on JobFlo real?
They are read from the company's own careers page and link to it. When a company closes the posting, it leaves the board. There are no sponsored or paid listings.
Which companies are covered?
Companies that publish their roles through the hiring systems JobFlo reads (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and others), which is a large share of technology, product and startup employers. Not every company: a careers page built by hand, or on a system JobFlo does not read yet, is not there.
Why are some jobs hidden by default?
Long-open and reposted jobs, and staffing agencies, are the postings most likely to waste an application. They are labelled and one switch away, not deleted.
Can I apply from JobFlo?
Apply opens the employer's own form. The JobFlo extension fills it from your profile; you check it and press submit yourself.
